Chilliwack Community Forest Trail Days

// by: Emma Graham

You’ve probably heard all the buzz about the Chilliwack Community Forest. And if not, here’s your chance to get involved. The Chilliwack Park Society has been hard at work on the Chilliwack Community Forest. Located on the eastern hillside, two trails will be installed: one a 2.5 km loop and the other a longer 7 km loop. The initial section of the trail is over half completed by machine and volunteers have already made over 600 m of hand built trail!  The access road has been completed right up to the picnic shelter and the beginner loop of the trail is now completely flagged and ready to be cleared. But this is where they need your help.

If you’re interested in volunteering with the Chilliwack Park Society and finishing up the loop come on out on Friday July 10 at 6:30 pm and/or Sunday July 19 at 1:00 pm! Bring closed toe shoes, gloves, water, and a shovel or pick. If you don’t have tools don’t fret, there will be some extras. The Sunday session will be the biggest of the two days so spread the word and let’s get building Chilliwack!

The trail day will take place at 51996 Allan Road.
