New Vedder Mountain Trail!

// by: MWO

Over the last few years there has been a major project going on in the forest on Vedder mountain. The new non-motorized trail that climbs half way up the mountain is finally up and running, and many mountain bikers, runners and family friendly hikers have been out enjoying it. The trail starts at the motorbike parking lot on Parmenter road and ends half way up the mountain to top out at dilemma. The trail is a beginner trail that gradually makes its way to the top. The big thing with this trail is the bridge work, its so phenomenal how good the bridge work is. Everyone should get out and enjoy it. Its what vedder mountain needed, after 20 years of riding that crazy gravel road Im so glad to now have a world class trail to ride up. There has been many trail days over the last 3 years, Steve Uruski has organized many of the trail days this year and if you run or ride by on a trail day he will put you to work. Gerald has had his little loader thing bringing in gravel and rocks. Lafarge has donated money, martins asphalt has donated rocks and gravel, Jacks bike shop has donated tons of prizing for trail days and are also having a name the trail contest at their shop. The big shout out goes to all the volunteers, this trail took a ton of work and it was all done by volunteers. The FVMBA members have put in some serious time, as well as members from the Vedder running club. With the ski season being total garbage this year its a good time to go huff some dirt. The next trail day is Feb 8, see you there.
