Materials

200D 2X2 PA RIPSTOP

  • > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
  • > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
  • > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
  • > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
  • > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

Top features of the Freerider Pro 32+10

bluesign® product

Consumer products that carry the bluesign® product label conform to the strict safety and environmental requirements of the bluesign® system criteria. The textiles and accessories used to manufacture the products with the bluesign® approved label are produced in a way that saves valuable resources and has a minimum impact on people and the environment.

Green Button certified product

The Green Button is a government-run certification label for sustainable textiles. Everyone who aims to purchase socially and environmentally sustainable clothes should look out for the Green Button. There is currently no other label like the Green Button. It demands that mandatory standards are met to protect people and the environment. A total of 46 stringent social and environmental criteria must be met, covering a wide spectrum from wastewater to forced labour. Read more information here.

ClimatePartner certified product

By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for Deuter collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, Deuter is taking positive steps toward reducing their CO² emissions. But despite their greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, Deuter has teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a Deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects. More information.

The shell fabrics are made of 100% recycled yarn

Thanks to resource-efficient production methods making recycled synthetic fibers generally requires less CO2, less energy and crude oil compared to newly manufactured materials. The body fabric is also bluesign® certified and manufactured according to the strictest standards for environmental protection, occupational safety and consumer protection.

Made without PFAS

This product has been manufactured by Deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.

PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.

Deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.
