Switchback 30S

The Switchback 30 S is a lightweight, technically sophisticated pack for demanding ski tours in alpine terrain, from long ascents to steep couloirs. It's built for quick access: shoulder and hip pockets, a side compartment for crampons, skins and ski crampons, and a rope that can all be reached without taking the pack off. A carabiner lets you attach skis parallel to the pack while you're wearing it.

Emergency gear and a light ice axe live in a separate safety compartment you can grab in a hurry, while everything in the main compartment is reachable through the fully fold-out back panel. Two ice axe holders, a daisy chain, a rope attachment and a helmet net round out the carry options. The Full Contact Light back system spreads heavy loads across your back, and A-Skifix 3-point compression straps shrink the volume when the pack isn't full.
