Description

Edelrid has worked with professional climber and big-wall legend Tommy Caldwell to develop this rope, which is ideal for big walls and demanding routes. Color Tec technology creates a clearly recognizable change in color between the two halves of the rope and therefore a permanent center mark. Thanks to being made on a braiding machine with 48 bobbins, the rope has a particularly fine sheath structure that offers very pleasant handling and is extremely abrasion resistant despite its thin diameter.

Robust workhorse with PFC-free Eco Dry coating

This rope was developed in cooperation with big-wall legend Tommy Caldwell. A genuine workhorse with a particularly abrasion-resistant sheath construction. Not only is it light and easy to handle but, thanks to Edelrid's PFC-free Eco Dry coating, it is also permanently water repellent and dirt resistant. The perfect rope for big walls and demanding tours.

As a big-wall climber, you have to be able to rely 100% on your rope. In an emergency, it is the lifesaving umbilical cord that connects you to the world away from the wall.

Noone knows this better than big-wall legend and EDELRID ambassador Tommy Caldwell, with whom Edelrid developed this rope. The aim of this collaboration was to develop a rope that is not only extremely robust and abrasion resistant but also light and easy to handle. It also needed to be produced in a sustainable manner that conserves resources. After initially causing Edelrid's developers major headaches, these stipulations were ultimately met to perfection in the form of the TOMMY CALDWELL ECO DRY CT 9.3 MM.

Both Edelrid and Tommy were particularly committed to ensuring that the rope can be produced in as environmentally-friendly and resource-conserving a manner as possible. This made Edelrid's Eco Dry coating the only choice for finishing the rope. The PFC-free coating does not use any perfluorinated or polyfluorinated chemicals, which are harmful to humans and the environment, and absorbs almost no water (water absorption capacity < 2%, UIAA Dry Standard). Like all Edelrid ropes, the TOMMY CALDWELL ECO DRY CT 9.3 MM is bluesign® certified.
